SHEER ELEGANCE BY SHADEX®

IMPORTANT MEASURING GUIDELINES

• SHEER ELEGANCE head rail must be installed perfectly level and installed evenly to ensure smooth operation.
• Before measuring, ensure that your mounting surface, whether frame/outside or inside/ceiling surface is perfectly level.
• Should your surface not be level, adjust accordingly and then measure.
• Always use a metal tape measure for accuracy.
• The LENGTH MEASURMENT is the critical part of the SHEER ELEGANCE Soft Roll Shade. The length measurement affects the operation and function of this product.
Please refer the important information of this product, under the “How to Measure Length” instructions.

HOW TO MEASURE

Inside Mount: WIDTH
• SHADEX® accepts “FINISHED MEASUREMENTS” only on all products for width.
• Minimum depth required is 2 ½” for inside mount.
• Ensure mounting surface is level and consistent.
• Look for any obstructions that may interfere with blind operation.
• Measure across “TOP” of window between jambs where shade will be mounted. Order ceiling mount brackets.
• Recommended deduction is ¼” to 3/8”
• Fabric will be 1 ¼” less +/- 1/8” from finished head rail size

Inside Mount: LENGTH
• Ensure that your mounting surface is perfectly level.
• Check for any protrusions or obstructions such as window cranks, locks or moldings. This will be a major factor when determining if this product can be used as an inside mount.
• Measure the length in 3 places and choose the shortest length.
• Order the exact measure, do not add or make any deductions to the length.
• The bottom rail will sit slightly above the sill or to your specified height and will be in the closed position.

Outside Mount: WIDTH
• Measure across top of the window where the head rail will be mounted and order this size. No deductions required.
• Look for any obstructions that may interfere with blind operation.
• The fabric will be 1 ¼” less +/- 1/8” from finished head rail size.
• Should you require “cloth” to cover the frame add 1 ¼” to the cloth measurement.

Outside Mount: LENGTH
• Determine where the head rail will be mounted
• Check for any protrusions or obstructions such as window cranks, locks or moldings.
• Choose the desired length to where the bottom rail will stop.
• Order the exact measurement, do not add or make any deductions to this length. The blind will be in the closed position at specified length.

HOW TO INSTALL

PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL IMPORTANT MEASURING GUIDELINES HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED BEFORE YOU BEGIN INSTALLATION.

HELPFUL QUICK TIPS

BEFORE YOU BEGIN, HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS TO EASE THE INSTALLATION OF YOUR NEW SOFT ROLL SHADE.

· REVIEW YOUR INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FIRST.

· DO NOT USE KNIVES OR SHARP OBJECTS TO OPEN YOUR PACKAGE AS THIS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO YOUR NEW SHADE.

· DO NOT UNROLL THE SHADE BEFORE INSTALLATION.

· HANDLE SHADE BY ALUMINUM EXTRUSTION AND NOT BY THE FABRIC.

· TEST YOUR BRACKETS ON HEADRAIL, BEFORE INSTALLATION.

· INSTALL YOUR BRACKETS.

· ENSURE HANDS ARE FREE FROM DIRT.

· ALWAYS USE CORD/CHAIN SAFETY HOLD DOWN.

INSIDE MOUNT – INSIDE/CEILING

· CEILING BRACKETS HAVE A SPRING LOADED PLASTIC LATCH THAT SNAPS THE HEADRAIL INTO PLACE.

· THIS PLASTIC LATCH HAS A LIP THAT “MUST” FACE TOWARD THE INSIDE OF THE ROOM.

· THE PLASTIC LIP IS ALSO USED TO REMOVE THE SHADE BY SIMPLY PUSHING ON THE LIP TO UNLATCH THE HEADRAIL.

· THE BACK OF THE BRACKET IS METAL AND HAS 2 HOOKS WHICH MUST FACE TOWARDS THE WINDOW.

· A DISTANCE OF APPROXIMATLEY ¾” MUST BE FREE BETWEEN BACK OF METAL BRACKET AND WINDOW MULLION TO ALLOW INSTALL OF HEADRAIL.

· SCREW BRACKETS INTO PLACE WHILE ENSURING THAT YOU GUIDE THE SCREW IN THE CENTER OF THE SLOT HEAD AND THAT IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH THE SPRING LOADED PLASTIC LATCH.

· DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.

· THE TOP OF THE FASCIA HAS 2 LIPS. ONE IN FRONT AND ONE ON THE BACK. THIS IS WHERE BRACKETS WILL SNAP INTO.

· THE CURVED PART OF THE FASCIA WILL FACE TOWARDS THE INSIDE OF THE ROOM.

· WHILE CAREFULLY HOLDING THE BLIND, ANGLE THE BLIND SLIGHTLY DOWNWARDS SO THAT THE BACK LIP OF THE HEADRAIL HOOKS ON TO THE BACK OF THE METAL BRACKETS.

· ONCE HOOKED INTO THE BACK OF THE METAL BRACKET PUSH THE HEADRAIL UP GENTLY SO THAT THE FRONT OF THE SPRING LOADED PLASTIC LATCH SNAPS INTO PLACE WITH THE FRONT OF THE HEADRAIL LIP.

· PUSHING IN THE PLASTIC LIP WILL EASE INSTALLATION.

· INSTALL THE CORD HOLD DOWN.

OUTSIDE MOUNT – WALL/FRAME BRACKETS

· WALL/FRAME BRACKETS ARE THE SAME AS THE ABOVE ONLY WITH AN “L” SHAPED ANGLE BRACKET WITH FOOT PLATE.

· PRE DRILLING THE HOLES WILL HELP TO PREVENT CRACKING/SPLITTING WHEN MOUNTING ON A WOOD FRAME.

· INSTALL BRACKETS SO THAT THE TOP OF THE BRACKET IS IN THE PROPER POSITION FOR YOUR LENGTH MEASUMENT.

· ENSURE THAT THE BRACKETS ARE LEVEL.

INSTALL THE BLIND AS ABOVE.
INSTALL CORD HOLDDOWN.
